Grainger

Grainger is a B2B distributor of industrial products used to maintain, repair and operate facilities. 3+ million large businesses and institutions worldwide rely on Grainger making it an $13B company to date. Over the course of 2016 a pursuit to acquire more medium-sized customers began thus igniting the need to dive deeper into the breadth of technical products to assess where a visual and interactive facelift was necessary. Months worth of user studies and competitive analyses were conducted to figure out what was and wasn't working across all of Grainger's digital products. In result the primary goal for both user experience and design strategy was to simplify a space that was seen as too dense and complex both within the .com experience and multiple mobile applications. A new style guide was developed and released in an iterative, agile approach that drove an increase in core KPIs and very positive customer feedback which later was adapted for employee facing software and tools.
